Zorin the Lynx (MacFusion user), hi

If an issue relates to SSHFS,
<http://fuse.sourceforge.net/sshfs.html>.

If an issue is specific to the MacFUSE SSHFS binary, which is used by
MacFusion,
<http://code.google.com/p/macfuse/issues/list>.

If an issue is specific to MacFUSE,
<http://code.google.com/p/macfuse/issues/list>.

If an issue relates to Apple Finder,
<http://www.apple.com/support/osfamily/>.

(That's not passing the buck; rather, I'm highlighting the blend/
distinctions. As you have veered to the MacFUSE area for your
enquiry, you're probably getting the gist already :-)

In my experience: MacFUSE caching is impressive.

Whether -- with your slow uplink -- SSHFS can match a more mature
protocol such as AFP in terms of caching/buffering etc., I don't know.

Over in the MacFusion area, at a glance
<http://code.google.com/p/macfusion/issues/list?can=1&q=Finder%
20label:fs_sshfs> we have no reports of similar symptoms but in any
case, I'd expect the issue(s) to be discussed elsewhere.

<http://code.google.com/p/macfuse/issues/list?can=1&q=Finder+slow>
leads me to
<http://code.google.com/p/macfuse/issues/detail?id=252> which might
make excellent reading in this instance.

If you decide that debugging is appropriate, your MacFusion will ease
the routine of specifying the debug options and gathering the logged
information.
