It's a long time since I dabbled with MacFUSE-oriented NTFS-3G but  
from what I recall, specifying the option at the command line should  
not be too complicated :)

Beyond Spotlight: elsewhere, http://groups.google.com/group/google- 
mac-desktop/browse_frm/thread/8db10e364b1836fd?hl=en someone wishes  
for Windows-oriented volumes to be indexed by _Google Desktop_.

At least: from the MacFUSE wiki, be aware of the risks that may be  
associated with allow_other.

Without a fuller understanding of the security implications: I  
neither recommend, nor caution against, indexing of volumes that are  
not normally indexed.
