I see a line relating to MacFUSE in the panic logged below.
I don't suppose that MacFUSE was a cause, but can anyone offer
insight/explanation?
Long before the panic I had mounted an EncFS volume, seemed to be
fine (it's mounted nearly all the time; I have some documents and
some ~/Library items (with symlinks from my normal ~/Library). No
other use of MacFUSE.
Also mounted prior to the panic: six volumes on a disk on the FW 800
port.
Running prior to the panic: various applications, including one using
an external iSight on the FW 400 port.
At the time of the panic AFAIR I was launching another video-oriented
application that activates the built-in iSight (USB) at launch time.
I'm not sure how panics 'normally' occur in modern versions of Mac OS
but on this occasion, the machine stopped dead. (Didn't present the
multi-lingual overlay invitation to restart. Didn't respond to
command-control-power keys.)
Mac OS X 10.4.11, MacBook Pro.
Thanks for any advice/guesswork.
