After much experimenting, I was finally able to connect to my web
server using MacFUSE-Core-10.4-1.5.0 and sshfs-1.0.0, running under
Mac OS X 10.4.11 on a PowerMac G4. The volume mounted on my desktop as
expected, but the directories I expected to see inside were
represented by alias icons. And when I tried to open one of them I got
a warning message saying "The alias 'domains' could not be opened,
because the original item cannot be found."

Is this a problem with MacFuse-Core, with sshfs, with Mac OS X, or
with my web hosting service? Are there any workarounds?
