I don't remember writing this in the 2.0 changelog. Could you point
out where exactly you are seeing this?

Perhaps you are confusing "regular" attributes with extended
attributes. The "_x" in "setattr_x" means it is an extended version of
the setattr call. It doesn't mean it's for extended attributes.
