I hadn't actually - thanks - but I was pretty determined to insert a couple strategic printfs to narrow down where my java fuse bindings were going off the beam. Debugging the native side of jna is tricky and I'm new to it. Now that that's figured out (can't let fork be called by way of daemon, so have to run in foreground mode and background the whole jvm) thanks to macfuse and jna I'm successfully writing osx filesystems in scala.
