This file hiding mechanism is specific to Finder and possibly the supporting Carbon/Cocoa APIs. I can immediately see some problems with generating com.apple.FinderInfo data with the kIsInvisible flag set when there is no data in the xattrs... it's not impossible but I personally don't think it's worth the effort. I can see the point in trying to better map NTFS hidden files and directories onto the Mac file system model, but how should we keep these things synchronized when the com.apple.FinderInfo attributes might say one thing, and the NTFS flags another? Anyway, this is not a discussion suited for this group. If you want to discuss it further I suggest you create a thread in the NTFS-3G forum mentioned above.
