Have you tried the two MacFUSE-based solutions, fuse-ext2 ( 
http://sourceforge.net/projects/fuse-ext2/ ) and ext2fuse ( 
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ext2fuse/ )?

fuse-ext2 has binaries available for Mac OS X on their sourceforge 
download page.
Also, I have previously compiled a test build of the latest/last(?) 
version (0.8.1) of ext2fuse for Mac OS X, that you could try out in case 
fuse-ext2 doesn't work:

Keep in mind that if your ext3 partition is located on an LVM volume 
set, I don't think any of the available ext2/3 file system drivers will 
mount it (not sure about Paragon).
