MacFUSE should definitely not recognize any drive. It's a 
framework/kernel extension that developers can use to create file 
systems in userspace. It doesn't do anything by itself... it is used by 
other software to provide third party file systems for Mac OS X.

You're most likely confusing it with NTFS-3G (NTFS-3G uses MacFUSE 
internally, but that's not something that users need to know or worry 
about normally), which is a free and open source file system driver for 
accessing NTFS drives.
