MacFUSE doesn't magically make your NTFS drives writable. It's a development framework, a set of libraries and a kernel component aimed at providing developers with a good toolset for implementing file systems. You're probably confusing it with the NTFS driver NTFS-3G, which _uses_ MacFUSE.
