I've tried using sshfs on OSX 10.6 to copy large volumes of data (tens
of thousands of files in about 50GB of data) from a linux server at
work (which is a reasonably new piece of hardware, eight core, fibre
channel backend etc.) but it always hangs on me. It won't even give me
file information and I ended up having to manually scp that entire
data tree (which worked fine). There was a smaller directory I was
also having trouble with, like the other one all files and directories
in that tree have no rights for others and group, and all rights for
user. Maybe that's causing an issue?

Just surprised, I was very hopeful to replace the buggy and slow SMB
mounts we use there.

Cheers
