I seem to have some sort of conflict in my system between MacFUSE and
another component and I cannot sort it out. I am hoping someone here
may be able to interpret the Mac OS X panic report output and help me
find the culprit.
These crashes started when I purchased and installed a Pogoplug system
which requires MacFUSE to operate. Pogoplug provides a desktop client
application which will mount an external hard drive via internet
network connection.
I have two user accounts on my system. One is an administrator account
which is never used except to install or manage applications on the
machine. The other is a standard user account which is used as my
daily working environment.
My trouble presents itself ONLY when I am logged in with my standard
user account AND the Pogoplug desktop application is running with the
associated hard drive mounted to my machine. In exactly that
configuration I get a daily crash on my system which I cannot find a
solution for.
When I restart the my machine in the administrator account I
immediately get a system alert box which provides a "Problem Report
for Mac OS X Kernel" (copied below). Can you help me understand what
this report is telling me and where to go next to try and solve this
problem?
The report references MacFUSE saying "MacFUSE: memory allocation
failed". I have uninstalled and reinstalled MacFUSE several times via
the System Preferences pane. No luck.
Note that these crashes happen ONLY when I am running the machine from
my Standard user account, NOT when running from the Administrator
account. Also, they only happen when the Pogoplug application is
running and has mounted my remote drive.
