Hi David,

The solution that we (Tuxera) released in the 2010.9-RC release uses very conservative locking which would exclude it to be used as a shared component. However it works well for the limited use case of the Tuxera NTFS driver.

We are working on implementing more fine-grained locking and eventually (when we feel it's ok for general usage) we'll be releasing a stand-alone MacFUSE version so that for instance our open source driver NTFS-3G (and other MacFUSE-based solutions) can be used with the 64-bit kernel.

Regards,

- Erik

Looks like Tuxerra has implemented a 64-bit solution based on MacFUSE
for their proprietary NTFS driver. See http://macntfs-3g.blogspot.com/
(2010.9-RC release notes)

Anything that we can do to help speed up incorporation of that
solution into a standalone MacFUSE installation?
