That's sane and understandable.

Re http://code.google.com/p/macfuse/wiki/VERSIONING there was sound
reasoning to the versioning scheme. I can't recall the reasoning (and
I won't search this Google Group) but here goes:

>> MacFUSE Core releases have version numbers of the form x.y.z,

>> z as the "Tiger"/"Leopard" differentiator.

As 2.1.5 Beta was for Snow Leopard, so:

* an eventual 2.1.6 would have been for Tiger

-- with partners 2.1.7 for Leopard, 2.1.8 for Snow Leopard

* then 2.1.9 for Tiger

-- with partners 2.1.10 for Leopard, 2.1.11 for Snow Leopard.

Moving on
=========

Distributions from any source that produced a 2.1.7 or a 2.1.9 on Snow
Leopard have broken the pattern -- I'm not complaining :-) simply
observing -- so when discussions re: hosting source code reach an
agreement, I suggest the following:

2.1.12 Beta for Tiger
2.1.13 Beta for Leopard
2.1.14 Beta for Snow Leopard
2.1.15 Beta for Lion

-- then at some point:

2.2.0 for Tiger
2.2.1 for Leopard
2.2.2 for Snow Leopard
2.2.3 for Lion

2.2.4 for Tiger
2.2.5 for Leopard
2.2.6 for Snow Leopard
2.2.7 for Lion

-- and so on, all of which wildly assumes continuing compatibility
with Tiger, and future compatibility with Lion.

I hope I have properly understood the scheme begun by Amit.
