Just for the record (probably not for follow-up): I did encounter one panic whilst using my MacBook Pro with the 2010-10-20 Tuxera distribution of macfuse-core-10.5-2.1.9.dmg
I can't reveal details of the panic, and the panic was extraordinary (there was no log of the panic; the panic appeared old style, without the GUI hint to press and hold the power button).
