I have a MacFUSE file system in which the top level is read-only, but the folders underneath are read-write. This appears to mean that the OS cannot place the invisible .Trashes folder at the volume root (/ Volumes/myvolume/.Trashes/<user id number>/).
I know this isn't really the list for this, but if anyone has had a similar problem, could you relate how you solved it? All I can think of doing is special-casing the .Trashes folder at the volume root. Is that the only option?
