Am running 10.6.7 and Mac Fuse and the driver referenced by Apple here: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/system_disk_utilities/ntfs3g.html Works great. However, I release the NTFS drive when shutting down so I can use it on my XP machine, and not worry about delayed writes, or other potential issues.
