1. downloaded and installed the latest MacFUSE (Dec. 2008). 2. rebooted my OS X 10.6.8 white Macbook 3. opened system preferences and MacFUSE showed up as a red disk image 4. tried to install the NTFS-3G 1.2712 5. during installation NTFS-3G installer says "MacFUSE Core is not installed.
i tried to install NTFS on the volume where I installed the MAcFUSE 2.0.3,2, but NTFS does not recognize that MacFUSE is installed. So, i tried uninstalling MacFUSE by clicking on the image at System PReferences and the window says "MacFUSE does not seem to be installed." This is queer because i can see the MacFUSE icon in my System Preferences but when i tried to remove it, it says it's not installed, which is what NTFS-3G installer is saying. I've tried searching and it seems like there are no other problems reported like mine. I have cleaned my mac using the CleanMyMac app. is this the reason why i can't install MacFUSE? Were there any files that are required for the MacFUSE to be installed? I did use the latest MacFUSE version (Dec. 2008), however, I had (and still have) an erratic internet connection.
