Grab a copy of OSXFuse and install with MacFUSE compat layer, grab the unsupported SSHFS binary from the MacFUSE project (perhaps OSXFuse has their own) or from somewhere like MacFusion and put it somewhere useful (~/bin for myself). Running it from the command line works for me perfectly fine with a binary that dates from 2008.
I've gone the other way (upgraded from 10.4 through to today with three HW shifts and migrated each step, not sure where MacFUSE joined the party) but I don't see why it shouldn't work.
