Job title: Sr. Consultant EDI
Location:Rocky Hill, CT
Duration:4+ months
Rate:$60/hr

The North American EDI team is a regional IT shared service organization
tasked with support, coordination, and delivery of EDI transactions across
all business units.

The candidate will be responsible for business consulting, business/system
analysis, requirements gathering, documentation, functional design,
coordinating, acceptance testing, training as assigned, and managing
projects while strengthening our relationship with the business, our
outsourced IT vendors, and internal IT colleagues regionally as well as
globally.

The candidate will possess strong EDI experience in the automotive industry
with emphasis on using GXS as a service delivery partner and using SAP as
the ERP system. Experience with the Honda EDI Certification process will be
a plus.

This role requires strong system analysis, coordination, and prioritization
skills.

The role will require close liaison with project managers, internal and
external development leads, business leads, and other stakeholders. The
ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships will be
essential to the candidates success

Job Responsibilities

Handle multiple, concurrent activities and prioritize responsibilities

Identify and raise dependencies, risks, and issues to the team and/or
project manager in a timely manner and help with the risk mitigation plan,
ensuring minimal impact on the project plan
Design pragmatic software solutions that leverage the approved IT
architectural landscape and identify those situations requiring a variance
Provide business, design, and content input into system analysis and design
Participate and coordinate the validation of the solution, regression
testing, user acceptance testing, and training
Involvement in the full project lifecycle from initial requirements
gathering through UAT support to post-implementation support.

Skills & Knowledge

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express
complex technical concepts in business terms
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well on cross-functional
project teams, work well with team members from different cultural
backgrounds / countries, and foster team commitment to tasks
Strong EDI functional and technical experience in the automotive industry
(Ford, GM, Chrysler)
o using GXS as the EDI integrator
o SAP ERP (Sales & Distribution (SD) module with Scheduling Agreements
o using EDI X12 standards
Experience with EDIFACT is a plus.
Experience with Honda EDI Certification is a strong plus.

Minimum Requirements

4-year college degree (Bachelors) in Information Systems preferred but may
substitute other technical certification in a related field.
Minimum five years of experience in business consulting/analysis,
functional design techniques, and SDLC methodology.
Minimum five years of application development experience with EDI in the
automotive industry
Knowledge of project management techniques preferred.
Excellent knowledge of PC, Internet and related technologies/application
Ability to travel domestically up to 10% per year.
