Don't tell anyone I told you this, but the News.com urls can be shortened by removing the article title. So the url you gave could be shortened to this:
http://news.com.com/2100-7343_3-5253808.html Our Apache proxy actually doesn't care about anything in the url except the filename at the end, with all the numbers.
