remember when recently I asked about the extensions  showing up in disk 
images one creates. this is  a new field for me. Anyhow, Apple 
discussions were of great help -- too much actually- but here is a link 
to all the different ways to create compressed , non compressed and God 
knows what other type of images. Maybe some of you are interested.
