At the February 22nd meeting of the LCS, Mike Garton of Dupont Manual High School Communications/ Media Arts gave an excellent presentation outlining and contrasting the capabilities of the video production applications (iMovie, Final Cut Express and Final Cut Pro).
As a result of Mike?s presentation, there was a lot of interest expressed on the MacGroup listserve about forming a Special Interest Group on the subject. The details have been worked out and we would like to extend an invitation for all LCS members to attend a formative meeting for a Still and Video Imaging Special Interest Group (SVI-SIG). Our first thoughts are to hold SVI-SIG meetings on the second Tuesday of each month, two weeks before the regular LCS meetings. The first meeting will be held at Pitt Academy on April 12, 7 to 9 PM. To sweeten the pot for this formative meeting, Mike Garton has graciously agreed to give us Chapter 2 of his video presentation. Those of you who came to the first presentation won?t be able to resist this follow-up. I look forward to hosting this SIG and hope you can all turn out for this first of many interesting meetings. I can be reached off the MacGroup listserve at bk0026 at insightbb.com with any suggestions or comments.
