I think what Bill was suggesting is something different--assuming that
Framemaker for Solaris is a fully compliant X-windows app, I believe he's
asking whether it's possible to run the GUI on a Mac (using X11) while running
the application itself on a Solaris box.

Never having used Framemaker for Solaris I don't know the answer. But it's a
good question--there are relatively cheap Sun boxes available, especially for
the X86 version of Solaris. Might be an option.

Very unlikely, unless they provided the source, and even then it'd take finking.

Solaris tends to be quite platform specific I think, and I don't think a SPARC
chip is anywhere near close enough a match for a PowerPC chip for binary
compatibility to be fun. I've also never heard of any kind of emulation for Sun
stuff, be it OS X or Linux.

Only hope for FrameMaker on a Mac is to get PC emulaton software I'd warrant.
