I have a mac.com account and have set up my mail account. I seldom use it as my main mail as I also use Iglou's mail program. I know I can receive mail when others send to my mail.com, but I am unable to send out. I was trying to fix it this morning and discovered that my mac mail account is listed as a POP type account. Mail->perferences->accounts and under the tab account information, it shows account type: POP. After reading the help section, I believe this should show as a .mac type account, but I have no option to change the acct. type. So my questions are: Is this why my mac mail can not send, and how do I change the acct. type? As always, thank you for your help.
