Oh, I have no problem with this, because I'm used to filing large 
amounts of crud at work, so I can remember where mails have been filed 
for the most part. If worse comes to worst, I search in mail searching 
through the contents of all the mail. Archiving is a bit different.

Spotlight or searchlight or whatever the new search engine is called 
will do the trick, because Mail is merely text files, so it'll have no 
trouble finding the text in the mail messages. I'd bet it won't be able 
to find keywords tied to pictures which are attached to email, though.
