I don't know if this new version of Chicken of the VNC solves the
problem, but earlier versions were not always able to communicate with
PC-based VNC servers. I had this problem at home--if I run my iTunes PC
at XGA resolution or high color depth then Chicken of the VNC can't
connect, even though it connects fine using a VNC client on a Windows
laptop.

Subject: MacGroup: Remote Accessing your Mac

Some of you might find this interesting. A couple of new releases came
out today:

OSXvnc http://www.redstonesoftware.com/vnc.html

OSXvnc is a full featured VNC server providing remote access to the GUI,
keyboard and mouse using any VNC client.

And on the client side...

Chicken of the VNC
http://sourceforge.net/projects/cotvnc/

Chicken of the VNC is a VNC client for Mac OS X. A VNC client allows one
to display and interact with a remote computer screen. In other words,
you can use Chicken of the VNC to interact with a remote computer as
though it's right next to you.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In
practice, there is.

Someday, I will come up with a clever signature line. I am not sure if I
will use it or not, but I will come up with one.
