MacGroupies,

My favorite way to send email no matter where I am is to enable PostFix
and then send mail through my localhost SMTP server. Use the utility
PostFix Enabler. Takes just a minute. This from its web page:

Plus, it has a few other features, including the ability to set up a
roving SMTP server for PowerBook users to send mail wherever they are,
whenever they want, so long as they have an Internet connection. And
all without needing to know Unix or pico or whatever.

The link to a tutorial and download is at:

Takes just a minute and you can send mail from pretty much anywhere
WITHOUT checking for the provider's SMTP name (which may not
authenticate you anyway).

This has worked great for me, but someone on this list may have some
caveat or other.

P.S. This only works in Panther, but should work with all email clients
that run under Panther.
