Well Marta,
That is because of how kids are, after cartoons are over in the
morning, they go outside and soon are roaming the neighborhood and need
to be gathered up at launch time.
It is some of the terminology that has been in the computer world.
There are Parent folders, processes that do lots of spawning, all sorts
of things like that.
