O'Reilly has a nice tutorial out concerning how to effectively grab
screen captures in OS-X using the built in tools (programs and yes even
Terminal can be used to do this) and easy to find shareware tools. The
tutorial comes complete with pictures and step-by-step how tos. (I must
add in the bit about using Terminal there is an amusing bit about
'invoking the Terminal'. I can see someone standing in front of their
Mac, waving their arms around and "commanding" the Terminal to open up
ala LOTR -- which also makes an appearance in the tutorial.)

p.s. If you have been testing OpenOffice for OS-X, here is a tip to get
better pdf output. You can set-up new printers via the file menu or you
can set up new drivers for the pdf output. Set up a new pdf driver but
instead of using the generic pdf, use the Acrobat Distiller that they
have ported over to X11. (Many folks would use OO just for this feature
alone! and pay someone to figure out how to allow it to be used in
other OS-X programs. In a related note, Adobe is rumored to be close to
releasing Distiller for OS-X, which should please just about all of the
press world, even Quark users.)
