Many may know this already, but here's a tip anyway for those who are working with iMovie3 (or 3.0.1) and iDVD3:
Apple discussion groups indicate than an update for iDVD may be on the way, but for now that is a problem burning a DVD that runs longer that 15 minutes (approx.). I burned a DVD with a running time of 50 minutes. (Apple suggests no more than 60 mintues for best quality.) I had busted the movie into three chapters: Chapter 1: 35 minutes (run time) Chapter 2: 10 minutes Chapter 3: 5 minutes When playing the DVD, no matter which chapter I selected, it would start only at Chapter 1. Also, trying to "fast forward" would cause the playing DVD to lock up. Solution (until an update): Bust the movie up into smaller chapters. This was suggested by someone else at an Apple discussion board. It seems to work just fine. I reworked the movie and busted it up further... six chapters this time... each one about 8.5 minutes long. I'm guessing the computer gets an easier grip on the encoding/writing with smaller chapters. The 2nd DVD project plays and works just fine. I hope this info reaches someone who is having the same problem I was. Have a great day, everyone!
