I have a friend who needs to setup a G4 running OS9 as a remote server. The
server machine connects to the internet via a DSL line. She will need to access
the server from her home on her G4 (also running OS 9) via a dial up
connection. Can someone give me an overview of what needs to be done on each
machine or point me in the direction of some good material on how to set her up
to work this way?

I know that she can do this using the file sharing control panel, but I wasn't
sure about the security of going this route and if there was something that
worked better.

I have not used a Mac as a server since the days of Mac OS 7.x and never for
someone outside of our local network so I'm not sure how to advise her.

Thanks!
Beth
