Ward and Bill, thank you. I used PhotoShop Light (different from "Elements", I presume) on my old Windoze machine and liked it, but back then it came in the box with the scanner. Forking over $99 for what used to be "free" is an ouch, and it also hurts a bit that what Epson now bundles with their scanners is useless, but so it goes.
