Allan, i always wait until my subscription just about runs out. Then they 
will always give you a reduction. Mine for Macworld runs out in two months. 
At  first they wanted $ 34.95. now they want the same amount , but offer me 
all kinds of extras. The next time around they will offer me a lower price. 
Almost all subscriptions are programmed to do this number.

Thanks to the suggestion of another member that I could negotiate my rate, I
called and was offered $24.97 which I thought was reasonable.
