Sometimes mail queues are not emptied completely for some reason or 
another (one of the stops along the route from the sender to you may 
not have been able to connect to the next stop at the appropriate time 
so it saved a copy for sending "later", then connected, and sent it, 
but did not wipe it off of the send list. Then some time down the road, 
some maintenance was done and the "waiting to be sent" list was sent 
and cleaned out).
