See if this article relates to the sleep problem: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=30894 A PB 550 is pretty old (1994, pre-PowerPC): http://www.macintoshos.com/macintosh.museum/powerbooks/powerbooks.f.html I wonder if it can run 9.2.2 properly. That might be the real cause of the sleep problem. You might want to go back to an earlier OS. I don't think OSX will even install on a PB 550.
