Continuing my saga of computer problems:

I have been trying to install iWork and all I get after installation is
a crash.

My computer: iMac 800 MHz PowerPC G4, 1 GB SDRAM, running Mac OS X 10.4.3.
New software: iWork ?05 Retail (not the trial version).

First I used Disk Utility to repair permissions
(HD>Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility: First Aid. Every thing seemed
find (as good as it ever gets on my computer: some of the widgets that
came with Tiger don?t seem to hold their repair).

Next I insert the iWork DVD and click on the Installer icon, follow
instructions and install iWork on my hard drive. Successfully according
to the Installer.

Then I use Software Update to download Pages Update 1.0.2 and Keynote
Update 2.0.2. The only other new updates showing on Software Update are
for iPod (which I don?t have) and iTunes Phone driver ditto).

Now I?m ready to try out Pages. I have the serial number that will be
required the first time I open either component of iWork. I go to
HD>Applications>iWork>Pages and double click on the Pages icon; the icon
appears in the Dock and gives about five throbs then the Pages icon
disappears in the Dock and I get the following warning window:
The application Pages quit unexpectedly.
Mac OS X and other applications are not affected.
Click Reopen to open the application again. (I did and got the same
warning again.) Click Report to see more details or send a report to Apple.

I clicked Report and got the Problem Report for Pages window which I cut
and pasted into a new AppleWorks word processing document: 7.75 pages
long!!!

I get the same thing for Keynote. I have tried this twice, trashing all
the iWork components in between. and got the same results the second time.

I tried looking on Apple.com for help. The only thing I found there was
for installation problems when trying to install iWork over a trial
version. I am not installing over a trial version.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
