Jerry,
You must have some experience that I don't have. I had no idea that a
battery could contribute to non-recognition of a RAM module. If there
were problems with startup, or if the date/time info were being lost,
I'd've checked the battery, but all that is working OK.
I probably could get it onto OS-9, and if I were handier to the user I
might do that. But the situation is one where any change, including
changes for the better, comes at the risk of user dissatisfaction.
Later this year I'll get her transferred to OSX, but for now it is
stable and serves her purposes.
