If you remember from my previous request for help, I couldn't compose (write) new messages or reply using Apple' Mail application. So I switched to Thunderbird (which I like).
Well last week I was having a problem installing iWork. It seemed to install alright, but when I clicked on the icon, nothing happened. Well with Apple Tech help I finally got if to work. Tried "everything". Went through the following: Set up New User called test. iWork worked!! Both Pages and Keynote. Logged out as test; logged in as me. Both Pages and Keynote crash. Went to my Home-->Library-->Preferences and dragged the two iWork preferences (com.apple.iWork.Keynote.plist & com.apple.iWork.Pages.plist) to the desktop. Restart. Tried iWork again and it crashed. Uninstalled iWork; Logged out as AC; logged back in as AC and reinstalled iWork. Restart Tried iWork (Pages and Keynote). Both result in crashed. Moved my whole preference folder to the desktop. Home (AC) --->Library--->Preferences (moved to desktop). Restart. Back in again as AC, tried Pages, crashed. Returned Preferences folder to my Library. Restart. Used Software Update to download Pages Update 1.0.2 and Keynote 2.0.2. (I did this yesterday and still crashed). Went to HomeAC--->Library-->Caches. dragged to desktop. Logout, login as AC, tried Pages, crashed. Problem not in my Caches folder. Returned Caches folder to my home library. Shut Down computer. Booted in Safe Mode. login in as AC, Tried Pages. Crashed. Did a Restart. Logged in as AC, tried Pages again; crashed. Went to HD--->Library--->Caches and dragged folder to desktop. Restart, logged in as AC. Tried Pages. IT WORKED. So Does Keynote. All is solved. Problem was apparently a conflict with one of the System caches. And tonight I discovered that Mail application works sending as well as receiving, too. Of course I am not used to Thunderbird and since I didn't use the new Mail (Tiger version) that much....
