I tried GoogleEarth and was looking at a beautiful view when I had to
leave my computer for a few minutes. When I came back, the display was
black, as it should be due to setting in Energy Saver Preference, but it
would not come back up. or could I quit the current application (Command
Q) or do a Force Quit from the keyboard. Nothing worked. So I shut off
my iMac using the ?on? button.

Question: Does this mean that I cant run Google Earth on my machine?
Maybe I need a new one?

Currently: iMac 800 MHz, PowerPC G4 with go GB HD, 1 GB Ram, NVIDIA
GeForce2 MX.
