If all you're after is the word processor feature, NeoOffice may be a
bit of overkill. For opening just basic MS Word documents, I find
AbiWord more than capable:

Plus it's open source so it's free, and best of all cross-platform so
you can have the same software running on your PC and Mac.

NeoOffice works pretty well for those times when 'ya just gotten work
with the dark side'. (It is free)

Someday, I will come up with a clever signature line. I am not sure if I
will use it or not, but I will come up with one. In the mean time this
next one will have to do:

'W' Is for wiretap.
