Took retarded me a while to find Disk Utility and First Aid (on pull down menu; I was looking for the icon), but once I did, I at last got the "Repair Disk" button. Now Dr. Disk Repair sez my HD is fully restored to good health. Apparently it was a very minor problem. Much thanks, again, Russ.
