The SMU is the "system controller" chip used by Apple on recent G5 machines including the iMac G5. It drives the fans, i2c busses, real time clock, etc... The current kernel contains a very crude driver that doesn't do much more than read the real time clock synchronously. Hopefully Apple will address the issue, but I'm not holding my breath. Over on the Debian Linux side they already have written a new driver. Anyone know of a driver rewrite for 10.4 please join in...jf -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
