Glenn: All the suggestions you've been getting are from 10.4. There's an extra control now to increase the size of the cursor that's not in previous incarnations.
There used to be a couple of third-party thingies out there, but they seem to be all gone now. The only one I could find cost $110 and at that price, it'd be a better idea to just upgrade to 10.4. Sorry about that.
