My R200 is great, if a little slow.

It also does a much better job of printing on weird stocks than did
its predecessor, an equally cheap, but older, Epson SP 820. I have
printed on canvas, vellum and heavy card stocks with minimal
problems. It still amazes me to see it print on CDs, too.

For speed, I just got a HP LJ 1320. It's only black and white and
costs about three times as much, but is very fast, has real
PostScript and is a LOT cheaper to operate.

Oh, that reminds me of why I went shopping for a laser to begin with:
It costs about $90 to put a set of inks carts in the R200 (SIX of the
little budget-busters). Ouch!

Just don't get it into your head that you will now have a great home
darkroom with Photoshop and the R200. The quality is amazing, but
digital prints at Walgreen's are a lot cheaper. Walgreen's doesn't
print your pictures on CDs or canvas for that price, though, so
figure out what you need it for. Oh, the R200 doesn't waste near as
much ink in the head cleaning routine as the 820, and you don't have
to do it near as often. Gotta love THAT!
