Hi Marta,

I believe your question pertains to the flat panel iMacs, one of which you
own. Your iMac has an analog video out port that accommodates a $20 Apple
adapter made in two different flavors. One of the adapters gives you VGA
output to accommodate most industry standard crts, some analog flat panels
and most overhead projectors. The other adapter gives you both S-video and
composite video output used for attaching to a television or an overhead
projector.

You probably got one of these adapters with your iMac.

I remembered an earlier question several days ago was regarding video out
capabilities for the ?fruit flavored? iMacs. Your DV flavored iMacs and
maybe some others gave you a vga port out the back but was concealed by a
plastic filler panel. An indication of whether your particular iMac offers
this capability is whether Apple furnished you a second filler panel in the
box that had an opening created to reveal this hidden vga port.

Here is that question again:
Is it possible to route an iMac's display output to an external monitor?
