My 1-cent worth. I just got the cable modem the day before yseterday. I took the whole package, therefore installation and ph one converting was free as well as the modem that came with it. I printed the installation process out ( the read me on the CD.) Anybody is welcome to the printed copy before deciding . Just let me know and i shall mail it.) For OS9 you need Explorer 5, , it won't install automatically on classic and not OSX ( version 10.0) , although it will on OSX (10.1 and up). But you can always configure manually. OSX needs Explorer 5.02 and all need outlook express 5.02. I had only a slight difficulty, the CD at registration would not recoognize my outlook express. It gave me a loop, asking the question over and over, then asked me to call tech support. The person was knowledgeable enough to help me set up the thing in no time. He only asked a colleague once to make sure he had the Mac requirements right. It actually was easier than I thought. Now I only have to set up my six mailboxes ( I thought I shall name them after my many cats-) and have to figure out how to import my aol addressbook to the new mail program .
