This article is a bit long to copy and paste here but the gist of it is
this: Intel's new chip for laptop computers is going to be much slower
than its present one ("1.6 gigahertz, compared to Intel's current
mobile Pentium 4's 2.4 GHz "). Intel is readying a marketing campaign
to counter this problem by saying that it will be "it will absolutely
be the fastest processor on the planet for the mobile environment,"
because it works better at how it does things rather than relying on
speed alone.
Haven't Mac users been saying this for a while now? Haven't we had to
take a lot of good natured crap about our slow Macs from those peecee
folks? Goodness gracious, I think a few web-sites cough, slashdot cough
are going to melt from sheer embarrassment when this one hit the fan.
