Tuesday, February 25 is the next meeting of the Louisville Computer
Society. The first part of the meeting will feature Michael Steinmacher,
MALS, MSLS, manager of the Fern Creek Branch of the Louisville Free
Public Library. Michael also does computer training for the Library and
has made presentations to the group. Michael's topic this month is
security on the internet.
In an age where information is more readily available than ever before,
Internet users must be cautious about the information which they share
online. This discussion will address the basics of Internet privacy and
simple tips one can observe to help keep their information from falling into
the wrong hands.
The second part of the program will be a demonstration of Spell Checker X
by Cassady and Greene by me! Spell checker is one of my favorite
programs. It works within every program on the Mac and my favorite
feature of the program is it's ability to automatically replace
abbreviations I type with phrases I associate with the abbreviations. For
instance when I type LCS1 Spellchecker automatically replaces that with
Louisville Computer Society.
See you Tuesday.
