With Mac OS X, most programs can be uninstalled by trashing them. Sometimes you'll also have to plumb the depths of your ~/Library directory to remove registration and preferences information, but it doesn't hurt to leave it there, if you don't mind wasting a few bytes of drive space. Under Mac OS 9, I would use an uninstaller because the program may have installed extensions and other types of ugly nonsense. Trashing the program's directory won't remove other detritus scattered by the installer. | The next meeting of the Louisville Computer Society will | be February 25.
